ABOUT ME
I am Divjot Singh and currently studying Bachelor of Science (Honors) majoring in Computer Science. I was born and raised in India. My Interests are exploring the new technology which comes in the market, Dynamic Programming and Sports. In my free time, I’d love to watch Cricket, chess and also enjoying playing them. I also like to work out as I believe it also affects mental health in a good ways. Moreover, I believe that I am a quick learner, adapt to new changes quickly, Persistent and communicative. I chose York University for my Undergraduate degree because the resources here are a lot and even the studies and faculty reputation is better here. I have always leaned towards computers since my childhood, I was always curious how a website works or when we press some button how that stores data and reverts in the span of nanoseconds. When I graduated from High School and was submitting applications to the best universities in Canada and the US. I did get some acceptances and rejections on the applications. The rejections surely made me feel a little worse that I am not a suitable fit for the university but after some time it motivated me to do well and maybe I will submit my applications to those universities for my Master’s degree. Coming to the Brighter Side, It felt like an achievement when I got acceptances letters from the top universities in the world. I have got inspiration from my cousin about being hardworking and consistent. He is 6 years elder than me and pursues his career in the mechanical engineering field. I saw him grow and we stayed together for 2 years when he was doing his master at my hometown. He is very consistent with his schedule and his work regime and inspired me to be persistent and be hardworking. My favorite quote is “ Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard” which was quoted by Tim Notke. It inspires me because when I started my computer science degree I did not have any prior experience in coding and many students in my class knew much more than me, which gave me the motivation to do even more hard work, and it learned a lot of things in very short of time by doing hard work and stayed consistent in my process.
